With a twist of New Orleans, this drink is a sweet and zingy mix of Southern Comfort, Sugar, Fresh Lemon Juice, Apple Juice and Apricot Jam.  All shaken and served in a jam jar!

Make this drink at home 

50ml Southern Comfort

12.5ml Sugar Syrup (can be purchased at your local supermarket) or 1 heaped teaspoon of white caster sugar*

25ml Fresh Lemon Juice

25ml Apple Juice

1 heaped teaspoon of Apricot Jam

Add all ingredients to a standard jam jar, fill jam jar full of cubed ice, place lid on top and shake vigorously until all ingredients are mixed through.  Garnish with a mint sprig, lemon slice and two straws.

*Alternatively create your own sugar syrup at home – Pour one cup of water into a saucepan and turn the heat on.  Wait until the water is hot but not boiling and add two cups of white caster sugar and stir.  Ensure all of the sugar has dissolved completely however the mixture should not boil therefore turn off the heat and continue to stir until the mixture is dissolved.  Leave to cool and once cold pour into a bottle, seal and store in the fridge.
